De’ Angelo Whitlow was a football player, U.S. Army veteran, and land development manager long before receiving classical training at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York, where he was awarded the prestigious Hustof Award. He was later developed by The Walt Disney Company, where discipline, storytelling, and precision became cornerstones of his craft.

Chef De’ Angelo is a purpose-driven chef and the founder of D1 Culinary Group. His culinary journey began at home—learning through failure, instinct, and curiosity—before evolving into a career marked by excellence and innovation.

He brings precision, discipline, and creativity to every plate—anchored in steakhouse fundamentals and elevated by refined technique. His cuisine blends the richness of French sauces, the soul of Italian-inspired concepts, and the depth of Cajun and Creole influence. Whether preparing a dry-aged tomahawk, crafting layered seafood dishes, or developing house-made accompaniments, every element reflects his commitment to quality, consistency, and elevated flavor.
